Age of Ultron, Marvel taunts us till May with a new trailer

Everyone remain calm. Hydra has leaked the trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron. The trailer, in short, shows the tiny origins of Ultron, his rise to power and the "breaking" of the Avengers (yo'u'll get tat when you see the trailer.) With more characters, bigger villain, and now the Hulkbuster vs Hulk actually happening on screen before us, this film looks and feels like it is going to change everything we know and everyone we care about in the Marvel Studios universe.

Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, looking mysterious,

and kinda grumpy. Peyton Reed's Antman is confirmed to be released for July 17 1015. Reed, the replacement for Edward Wright, has stepped up and pushed forward on the films production in order to get it released in time for the reserved date Marvel have booked.

Wonder Woman, looking as we all imagined...I mean...

as we all expected for the theme of the film. Gal Gadot was shown to the world during San Diego comic-con earlier this year. The costume itself follows the traditional style of Wonder Woman, it also has the darker appeal, similar to the Injustice version of Wonder Woman. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is released March 25th 2016

One Month later...and we have Adam

After a month of no blogging, the whole film world seems to have imploded...then exploded some huge news for us all. Lets start with the biggest story of the moment. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been confirmed as Black Adam for Warner Brothers upcoming film, Shazam (that guy who used to be captain Marvel). Johnson's character is set to be more of an "Anti-hero" looking for "redemption". With no release date as of yet, we can only speculate if Shazam will be meeting up with Superman and Batman.

Sequel, franchise, sequel, franchise...

Kevin Feige, the Marvel Studios president has revealed his new plan for the Marvel initiative. He has said that he wants to release a sequel and a new franchise every year for the next five years. This year we have had Captain America: Winter Soldier and next week we have the Guardians of the Galaxy. 2015's sequel will be Avengers: Age of Ultron and the new franchise will be Ant-Man. Lets just hope that juggling all these franchises are not going to fall out of hand for the cinematic universe!

Dwayne "Shazam" Johnson?

Dwayne Johnson has revealed that he and DC will be making a "big announcement" soon. It has been long known that Johnson was in the works to be in a DC film, but with a teasing confession about what he is doing there fans have begun to piece together what his role will be. From his tone and his hints at a Superman like powers and the fact he wanted to play this role for a "long time", many believe he has landed the role of Captain Marvel, the young boy who can call upon great powers with the word "Shazam!" Let wait and see. And pray and hope. And plead that he is going to be cool!

Force for Change and the new X- wing fighter

As J.J Abrams is working on episode seven, he is also campaigning for a great charity drive and has starred in another promotional video for the force for change scheme. The video (Check it out on Youtube) shows the dirty old/new look for the X-wing fighter that has been seen as one of the most recognisable vehicles in sci-fi history. Lets just hope that all this excitement is going to pay off in December 2015 with the release of Star Wars: Episode VII.

Here comes Ultron

New images have been released for the next instalment of Avengers and have sent fans off on a buzz of excitement for the24th April 2015 release. Ultron is looking more like the dark and evil robot we all know and hate, whilst the airbrushed Stark and Cap'  are looking ready for action in their new uniforms. For all the images I recommend looking on Total Film news.

Waiting...more waiting

More waiting...
Christmas special 2015...
Three episode series January 2016...
I can't cope with all the tension and waiting...
Imagine I was able to write a proper blog post...

It's rainging, it's pouring...

and Superman is looking badass! The first official still from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has been released, with Henry Cavill's Superman stood on a rooftop in what we can assume is Gotham city. The suit appears to be brighter then Man of Steel, but I am sure we can expect more images soon. They might let us see Wonder Woman, Alfred Pennyworth, Nightwing, Cyborg, Aquaman, Lex Luthor or any of the many other characters piled into this film. Batman V Superman is released May 2016.

First image of Clark Kent the Journalist

Henry Cavil poses for a charity photo and reveals his costume for Batman V Superman. Although it was used for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund, it has been viewed by fans as a reveal for Clark Kent's journalist outfit. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released June 2016

Gollum Assembles...Caesar Smash....wait Avenger: Age of Ultron?

Famous for his motion capture acting and being in huge franchises such as Lord of the Rings and Planet of the Apes, Andy Serkis has been confirmed to be working on the latest Avengers. Although when asked he said he was "not at liberty to mention", fans are curious about who he will be playing. Is it going to be motion capture or a human character? Is he going to be a robot, monster, alien or another hero or villain to add to the all star cast of the film so far? Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released 24th April 2015.

Dracula; from classics and spoofs to Untold badass

A new film that has caught my eye is Dracula Untold, the Castlevania crossed with Game of Thrones look alike based on the classic tales of Dracula. Although not involving an A-list cast, lead vamp' Luke Evans seems to portray a young and more violent version of the vampire and the trailer has it's viewer hooked from the first moments. With the film not out till October 3rd, I think Dracula Untold is going to be a "dark horse" film to keep and eye on.

The newest name...that's right there is more!

Scoot Mcnariy is the latest name to be added to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. He has not been confirmed in a role, but he has become the centre of the rumour of becoming the new Robin or even a replacement for Green Lantern. With a cast list that may make the credits longer than the film itself, we'll have to keep our eyes peeled and watch what is coming next. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is released 29 April 2016.

Every stay calm, don't fanout just yet...

Avengers: Age of Ultron is getting it's first real teaser at San Diego Comic Con. I know what you're thinking, yes there is still just under a year till it's release; yes Marvel have kept the film hidden for a long while and distracted the fans with Guardians of the Galaxy, but we should all be ready and buzzed for what may be the biggest film ever, maybe overtaking the first Avenger film as one of the greatest grossing films ever.

Potter, get out of that Batmobile!

Daniel Radcliffe, star of the Harry Potter franchise has expressed his interest of playing the part of Batman's sidekick, Robin. He thinks he could be "perfect" for the role. Although this is not a confirmation, it is Radcliffe putting his name in for a new role. Batman V Superman is released in May 2016, so Snyder has a couple of years to decide if he needs a British Boy Wonder.

Perlman ready to "fight" for Hellboy 3

After years of thought and discouragement, it seems Hellboy is a step closer to having his third film made. It was long thought that the film would never be made, but now the star, Ron Perlman, is ready to "fight" for the final installment of Hellboy. With the first two films being described as set ups for a huge conclusion, it will be nice to see a rounded off conclusion for the big red daemon who loves cats.

Batfleck alone in 2019

With the high expectations of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice it seems the Batman is to get his stand alone film at the later stages of DC's film list. Ben Afleck is still locked into the central role, but 2019 is a long time for the fans to get used to his new career as the Dark Knight. 2019 will also be the seven year mark for the end of Nolan's trilogy. Until then we have Batman V Superman in 2016 and then Justice League to prepare ourselves and see how good the newest Batman will fair at the box office.

Is Shazam on his way with six other DC films?

Alright, time to get your heads around this dilemma. Nikki Finke, the original poster for the DC list of films being planned had no back up evidence for this list, so many people took it with a pinch of salt. But now a second name, Kevin Smith, a man with comic connections and a friendship with Ben Affleck has said the list is accurate to his knowledge. The "seven films in three years" may seem bonkers to the average film studio, but if DC are serious about stepping up their game to keep up with the Marvel success it seems this may be their new option. The list of films is as follows, with only on confirmed and being made as we speak;
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice- May 2016
Shazam- July 2016
Sandman- Christmas 2016
Justice League- May 2017
Wonder Woman- July 2017
Flash and Green Lantern team up- Christmas 2017
Man of Steel 2- May 2018

Although Sandman has been thrown about and the Justice League is going to be made around that time, many of those films have not even been considered. Is Shazam going to join the Justice League? What about Green Lantern? Is Flash going to be the same one from the series starting this Autumn? What about Cyborg, Aquaman and Nightwing, the other characters who are to be seen in Batman v Superman

1983, year of the Apocalypse*minor spoilers included*

FOX have told us that the next installment of X-men will be based in 1983, ten years after X-men: Days of Future Past and twenty after X-men First Class. This means we should expect to see a little bit of aging make up to some of the cast to get them to keep Magneto, Wolverine and Mystique will be making an appearance in order to stop the evil Apocalypse; who was featured along side the four horsemen in the ending credits of X-men: Days of Future Past. X-Men: Apocalypse is set to be released 19 May 2016.

Guardians get a new trailer

The latest Guardians of the Galaxy trailer has more details for Star Lord's past and filled with little clues for the plot line. With a horde of one shots for each character, we begin to see more details about how each of the characters feel about trying to save the billions of people at risk from the villains. With the inclusion of the expected humour, the trailer is likely to be the final on before thee release on August 1st.

Who is ready for Aquaman?

You read that perfectly, Aquaman is hitting our big screens. Jason Momoa, Game of Thrones and Conan, has been officially cast as king of Atlantis. It is said he is jointing the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice cast as a man not too happy with how Zod tore up the seas in Man of Steel. The speculations and rumours were denied by Momoa for a long while, but finally everyone's favourite superhero is going to be played by the huge guy that rides horses in Game of Thrones. I for one want to have at least three seahorse jokes dropped into the film. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released May 2016.

Bane and Smaug in the list for Strange?

With Scott Dirrickson as the director for the elusive Doctor Strange film, many names have been thrown around for a famous face to lead. Benedict Cumberbatch and
Tom Hardy have been the latest names to emerge from the Marvel Studios. With Johnny Depp, Jared Leto, Joseph Gordon-Levitt also in the mix for the neurosurgeon sorcerer, it seems Marvel are looking in the A-list bank for the next expansion of films. Doctor Strange has no release date, but we will be watching it carefully and hoping for news soon.

Will Gambit run alone first?

Channing Tatum has hinted at being in talks about a "standalone first". Gambit is seen as one of the most popular and complex X-Men characters that was not explored in too much depth during his first appearance in X-men origins: Wolverine. It is understood that he will be in X-men: Apocalypse, but will Tatum's standalone appear before or after the apocalypse? X-men: Apocalypse will be released 19th May 2016.

From Sinister to Strange!

Doctor Strange is on his way with the director of the horror film Sinister,  Scott Derrickson, tweeting his acceptance to the project. The film is based on the comic about the nerosurgeon who loses the use of his hands in an accident and decides to commit his life to the art of magic. Not only had the character earned a name drop in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but with Johnny Depp rumoured to be linked to the leading role of Doctor Stephen Strange, how will the film that may even pull the Defenders together work?

New Batfleck Ride Images

The newest images for the Batmobile have been revealed. The ride looks like a dirt buggy version of the Nolan Tumbler. Let's just hope that the new Batmobile has just as much screen time as the last, along with the gadgets and insane car chases for Batman v Superman:Dawn of Justice in 2016.

Batflek's flick makes jobs

Batman v Superman is to create 6,000 jobs! The first few scenes have been filmed with Gal Gadot as the new Wonder Woman, but soon the next section will be with Batman. The new Wonder Woman costume has been rumoured to be similar to the Injustice costume, The video game suit is a fun idea and have been seen as a less sexual version of the costume, but still a nice classic take on the Wonder Woman costume. We will have to wait on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016.

Daredevil has a face!

That is right, Charlie Cox has been signed on as Marvel's newest character. the Netflix series Daredevil has seen lots of people coming and going the past few weeks, but now we know that the man who looked for a star in the film Stardust, will now be looking for crime as the blind hero of the New York underbelly. Cox will be starting his role soon and the thirteen episode series will air to Netflix in 2015.

Could the Batfleck see the Joker?

Larry Fong, the cinematographer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has released a photo. The photo has gone crazy online and as a keen fan myself; the image has given us a lot to think about. With the long cast list already, Callan Mulvey has been seen on the cast list. He has said he has been "sworn to secrecy" and it would be a while before we could get an official report. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released summer 2016, with one of the most exciting cast lists we have seen in a long time.

X-Men: Days of Future Past Review

The X-men franchise has grown and grown of the past ten years, with the time range in the films spanning the early 60's to present day, but now we see the future. The film's time travelling consciousness plan worked well, even though at time we needed to be reminded how it worked with the brilliant explanation of her new powers from Shadowcat  (Ellen Page). Hugh Jackman's reprisal of the much loved Wolverine was just as brutal and tough, even if he didn't have his shiny claws the whole time. The film was fun, exciting and filled with the action scenes everybody, comic fan and film fan alike, really wanted to see. Although not the best as a structural concept, Days of Future Past delivered all the essential X-men humour and inside knowledge. Without ruining it too much, the ending has created a whole new view on the next films, with Wolverine changing the past, the new future everybody is looking forward to, may be shattered with the arrival of the newest and probably most powerful villain in X-men Apocalypse, which is set for a 2016 release. Days of Future Past in in cinema now and has proved it is a worthy addition to the X-men series.

Not such a fun surprise Marvel

Antman director Edgar Wright has officially left the project over creative differences. Although Marvel have told us that "a new director will be announced shortly", the script was co-written by Wright and it is unclear whether that will be leaving with him too. The thought about his departure can also be seen as the pressure of the deadline of release, set for July 17 2015. With the film still not shooting, the date is slowly becoming an unrealistic target.  Lets just wait and hope that Antman can pick himself out of the dirt and ride into the battle of the box office with his army of garden life on time.

The news has been greeted with enthusiasm with the Buffy: The Vampire Slayer writer having an already big influence in the television industry. The Daredevil series is set for a 2015 release with 13 episodes to its name.

It is here Batfleck:Dawn of awesome.

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice is the official name for the Man of Steel sequel. We as the fans are excited and highly anxious of the more intimate details of the film. The symbol has also been shown along with the title with the first poster. Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice is released 29 April 2016.

8 episodes of Carter

ABC have announced that the new series Agent Carter will run for 8 episodes. This has been confirmed by the leading lady, Haley Atwell, who says the fans optimistic reaction "surreal and humbling". The series is set to air January 2015.

Wonder Woman, first look at her in...

in a blue dress...oh. That's right the new Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, has been seen on set with the Batman vs Superman crew. The images are not very cool, but it is at least a stepping stone to more from the production during the summer. If only we could see the new uniform and maybe something from the other costume departments. We'll have to wait and see. Batman vs Superman will be released May 6th 2016.

Giant robot dinosaurs...seriously!

Today sees the release of the new trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction. Although Michael Bay has been slated in the past by the hardcore fans, the latest instalment of the Transformers franchise looks just as visually epic as the last three. We are introduced more into the story, now seeing Optimus Prime running from humans, then the villains arrival and finally seeing the first footage of Grimlock, Optimus' new pet for the film. The giant T-Rex looks as though he is to join the Autobots in their latest attempts to save the Earth and try not to go extinct themselves in the process. Transformers: Age of Extinction is out June 27.

Daredevil, the next generation of hero TV

After the announcement that Netfilx will be aiding Marvel Studios with the creation of several series to be aired exclusively to Netflix, we are getting some details about the first series; Daredevil. This will be based in the Marvel cinematic universe alongside the Avengers and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics, Joe Quesada, has said the series will seem like a "very large movie", based inside 13 episodes. The series will be aired in 2015 and the fans hope it will be a step up from Afleck's Daredevil in 2003. Let us also hope to see him joining forces with the heroes of the big screen sometime in the future.

Potter spin off on for 2016

After the trauma of seeing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 end in the spectacular fashion it did in 2011, Warner Brothers have geared up and got the spin off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them set for a November 18th 2016 release. With J.K Rowling penning the script as we speak, I think we can expect some "fantastic" things coming with the new instalment of the wizarding world. Let's just hope no more house elves are harmed in the making of this film.

Eisenberg talks Luthor

After the announcement that Jesse Eisenberg would be playing the infamous Lex Luthor in Batman vs Superman, the fans were very confused. Although an acclaimed actor with a good history of work, he has hair, like a whole head of it. Eisenberg has said that the character will be a different version of the character and will act and look slightly different to fit into Zack Snyder's darker DC universe. He was unable to tell anyone about the hair situation, but fans see the possibility of him keeping his hair and portraying the Superman: Earth One version of the villain. Batman vs Superman will be released May 2016.

Batfleck is here

Zack Snyder has lived up to his promise, the new vehicle and hero have been photographed for us. The image isn't as clear as we hoped, but it is good enough to ready the fans for the Batfleck. Batman vs Superman is going to be released in 2016.

Peggy's Back

Hayley Atwell is to return as Agent Peggy Carter, the love interest of Captain America: The First Avenger. This will be in the former of her own ABC series, Agent Carter. The plot is based after Captain America's disappearance and after the second world war, where people are trying to return to normal. We hope to see lots of fun references to the Avengers and lots of exciting new stories. The series is to be aired in 2015, but no certain date has been made clear.

Gambit, confirmed

Producer for the new X-Men: Days of Future Past, has confirmed that Gambit will be portrayed by Channing Tatum. The producer described Tatum as  "rogue" with a "good heart", which is what makes him perfect for the role. Although Gambit has been seen already during X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Taylor Kitsch's performance was not received well from the fans of the character. We also don't know which film he will appear in. Fox has confirmed X-Men: Apocalypse and another Wolverine film, so is it possible that Tatum will be able to star in both?

TMNT, give it a chance!

With the latest TV spot out now, that includes a glimpse of the back of Master Splinter's head, Michael Bay's take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been met with lots of mixed reviews. A new vision of the Turtles was needed after the disappointing film from 2007, TMNT. Bay is famed for his extravagant nature in films and his outright demolition of the normal rules that would apply to a franchise, but is this always a bad thing? Although I can agree that he dragged out the Transformers series of films, I think we can agree that the action and the rebuilding of an old fan favorite is sometimes an alternative to a hopeless shot for shot remake of the classics. Also, by slating the film so early on, we as the fans are not helping to give it a chance; I mean, what if it is actually really good? Do we lie, just to stop the TMNT fans from ripping us apart? Are we meant to tell people we hated the special effect, the inspiring challenges set before the turtles, when in fact some might enjoy the film? Lets wait and see.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is released on 17th October for the UK, which in it's own right, sucks!

Amazing Spider-Man 2, Review

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was in itself, pardon the pun, an amazing film. The main issues I saw with it was the speed it went, the narrative seemed rushed and it relied on the spectacular (for the comic fans sorry for the the choice of adjectives) visual effects from Electro and Spider-Man. The battle sequences were made even more superior, (see what I did there?) to the last film with the use of slow motion and close, two shots of the characters. The film had a feel about it near the end that can only be described as "Middley", which to me means it felt like a middle film and it was leading to something bigger. To put this into comparison, the "Middley" feeling fans felt with The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, or Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, where no matter how much you enjoyed the film, you know something bigger is still to come. I would completly recommend the film to those who are not into the comics that much, but for the diehard comic fans, Amazing Spider-Man 2 is simply a tool to get the Sinister Six ready and hopefully a kick in the direction of Venom.

Star Wars Production Begins Today

Star Wars Episode VII: The One without George Lucas?   is the most suitable title so far for the upcoming Star Wars film. Although it was scrutinized in the beginning when Disney took control of the giant known as Lucas films, it's now looking like the work director J.J Abrams and the casting choices are going to be a hit with most of the fans. I think we can expect a better attempt at an updated Star Wars than episode 1, 2 and 3, anyway. The filming is said to begin in Abu Dhabi today and it is thought that will serve as the setting for Tatooine, the planet that Anakin and Luke originated from before becoming a villain and hero. Maybe we could see an anti-hero appear from the desert plant this time?

Batmobile, Cruelest Teaser Ever?

With the excitement building for Batman vs Superman, Zack Snyder is teasing the fans with the back end of the new Batmobile. We know that it is Ben Affleck (Batfleck, the fans) who will be tearing up the tarmac in the new beast, but we have no images of his suit or his gadgets, so it is only right that we get to see the new car. With an all star cast and the most mysterious plot line ever hidden from some of the most agitated fans known to the world, is Snyder trying to torture us by making us wait till later today for more?

Kinberg downs the idea of a X-Men and Fantastic Four shared universe

The X-Men writer, Simon Kinberg has said that it would be "complicated" to place the upcoming Fantastic Four  film in the same universe as the X-Men  films. This idea of a shared universe is incorporated into the Marvel Studios team of films and TV series, with the Avengers living alongside the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and soon Daredevil living in the same time as the Guardians of the Galaxy. It is known that even DC's new film, so far known as either Man of Steel 2,  or, Batman vs Superman, is to create its own film universe for the characters. So, with the other companies striving to bring lives together in the form of separate movies, then a combination film; is it really that difficult for Fox to realize that the Fantastic Four could us friends like the X-Men in order to reclaim popularity after the disappointment of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer?

Michael Giacchino to Score Trevorrow's "Jurassic World"

Although a plot is still a mystery to us fans, we have recently learned that Michael Giacchino will be scoring the next installment of the "Jurassic" series. Giacchino is famed for his work in Pixar with Cars 2, Ratatouille, Incredibles and winning the Oscar with Up, but he is also known for the scores of Star Trek, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Super 8 and Mission Impossible III. All we can hope is that the Jurassic World will be able to live up to the high standard set by the composer, we will find out in June 2015.
